Swim and Dive

with one comment

It’s sports month here at the State Press, where we all try to get as many good sports shots as we can to pull from for the rest of the semester. Here are some of the swim and dive ones from last week. If you can’t tell, it was just the most beautiful day to be around all of these men in speedos.

How awesome are their muscles? Wow.

Oldies… hopefully goodies.

When I was going over the archives this morning, I found this assignment from last October for the Tribune. It was the opening of a new hospital in north Scottsdale at Thompson Peak. It was more like a country club than a hospital, go figure.

I just loved this lady. She was the spaciest person I have ever encountered on assignment. She fretted for almost five minutes about what last name she would give me. So Scottsdale.

There were thousands of people at this damn ceremony and this doctor just couldn’t stand by any of them. I just liked the beige-ness of the buildings and the stark contrast of him and the SUV.
People just rushed the doors of this place. There is a freaking cafe and grand piano in the lobby, along with all of the suspended orchids. I hope they paid for this out of their property taxes and not mine.

Hell week, part one.

An otherwise boring assignment got me pretty excited for the new light rail. It’s no subway system, but I will definitely use it. December 27th, 2008, here I come!

I’ll sleep when I’m dead.

So, I was thinking this semester was going to be a little easier than the rest. Not so. But, it’s going good so far. I will write more about classes tomorrow when I know exactly how the other two I haven’t been to yet are going. Here are some old and new pictures, seeing as I haven’t posted in a while.

This I took today of Vic Linoff, the owner of Those Were The Days! antique store, that is closing its doors on Mill Avenue.

This sight almost brought me to tears. Sunday.

Jeff Pendergraph reaching up and stealing a ball from the other team’s basket a few games ago. Man, he is awesome.

ASU Student gesturing to the UofA basketball team. Go figure.
