photojournalism in musing and pictures

Oldies… hopefully goodies.

When I was going over the archives this morning, I found this assignment from last October for the Tribune. It was the opening of a new hospital in north Scottsdale at Thompson Peak. It was more like a country club than a hospital, go figure.

I just loved this lady. She was the spaciest person I have ever encountered on assignment. She fretted for almost five minutes about what last name she would give me. So Scottsdale.

There were thousands of people at this damn ceremony and this doctor just couldn’t stand by any of them. I just liked the beige-ness of the buildings and the stark contrast of him and the SUV.
People just rushed the doors of this place. There is a freaking cafe and grand piano in the lobby, along with all of the suspended orchids. I hope they paid for this out of their property taxes and not mine.
