Rainy Day News

with 2 comments

The storm drains on the US 60 clogged during a rainstorm Sunday, flooding the freeway and backing up traffic for miles. It was such a sight to see folks just walking all around the highway, just stranded.

Before I arrived on scene, folks rescued some people from a car stuck in the flood. Staff photog Michael Chow was there on the ground and got a great shot of them rescuing her. So my stuff probably won’t run, but it was a cool experience nonetheless.

I am really missing some good closeups for this… but better luck next time, I guess.

  1. You did a great job even though you weren’t on the ground with Chow. It looks like you really moved yourself around to cover it from all angles. Spot news can be frustrating because you really have to be there at the right place and time…good work!

I hear you are taking a road trip with the other intern after the end of your internship…is that the trip you speak of? Will you be coming through Iowa by chance? If I’m still here and you pass through we can grab a drink!

  2. What a mess! I like the perspective of all your shots, and one of them made it in the paper after all – Kudos!
