Ancient Mariners

Today I went down to see what the little seaport town of Stonington was all about upon the recommendation of Michael McAndrews, a staff photographer at the Courant. As I was driving into town, I saw tons of people in funny costumes and decorated boats. Just so happened to be the annual ‘Blessing of the Fleet’ parade. I saw these guys in striped red shirts and couldn’t resist seeing what they were about. These are the Ancient Mariners of Connecticut; they were a rowdy bunch and a good time.
