  1. This one is pretty powerful. I don’t know what they were protesting or whatever but it’s almost like the picture shows two sides and you have to choose which one to be on, the innocent, or the knowledgeable. I think this is one of my favorites.

  2. it’s funny that you say ‘innocent and knowledgeable.’

this was from one of those town hall meetings last week where people attacked their congressman fearing socialism and our muslim president. this is the rally where some guy thought it was funny to repeat to me several times that i work at the ‘hartford koran,’ as if i hadn’t heard him the first time.

  3. Perhaps knowledgeable is the wrong word then. :/

It’s great when people repeat stupid things like that, hoping for a response, as if you didn’t hear them. Your response is ignoring them and their inappropriateness yet they don’t seem to pick up on that.

  4. Love this shot, Bettina. I just heard someone talking about how they wouldn’t take their kids to these crazy town hall meetings, and you see what happens. Poor guy’s probably disenchanted with the system forever – that or he’s having an awesome run at Bejeweled or whatever game he’s playing.

And *le sigh* over that irritating guy. I was actually surprised when I covered one of those tea party protests back in Oregon to see and hear so many people acting civilly. I got a few pot shots thrown my way, like “What are you doing here?” and “Like y’all care.” But compared to what’s been going on here in Texas they were really calm.
