Welcome to my blog, I am an aspiring photojournalist and recent graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism over at Arizona State University. I am currently working as a photojournalism intern at The Advocate newspaper in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I will be heading to a summer internship at the Hartford Courant in Connecticut this July. I am a Spring 2009 Freedom Forum Chips Quinn Scholar, and I also placed 7th in the 2008 Hearst Photojournalism News and Sports contest.

  1. OK you have moved. I checked out some of your work. Back to the Lost Boys. I really like your Soundslides. The audio is really good and you captured some wonderful moments with these young men. In general the pictures are light and bright in their content. I did notice a couple of shots had a slight focus problem and again as I mentioned to you earlier no detail shots. Try to include seeing details in your daily work. I love the wide view but when story telling in a slide show or a page layout project you need details to help reveal the essence of what it is you are reporting about.
    Look at hands, eyes the texture of their skin! Details bring us intimately close. You want the viewer to make a connection so include tight details in your work. Beyond that, nice work keep it up.

    Good stuff keep it up.
    Maybe add a page of your pics that you copy write and would be for sale. Online business is where its at for sure.

  7. Bettina, the book you sent Amber for her b.d. was marvelous!
    Loved the pictures and it was such a special gift. You guys
